'The Sky is a Blank Screen' is a live album from the tours for 2016's Jet Plane and Oxbow.
This hour-plus album catches the excellent SW lineup of JM, Emily Lee, Lucas Oswald, Sadie Powers, and Josh Halpern smashing their way through extended, sometimes off-the-rails versions of most of JPOB, along with a spare, reworked "Radio Silence" for Austin's KUTX, a demo of "Only Child" from JM's apartment, a cover of Bauhaus' "Kick in the Eye" for the Onion's AV Club, a wiry, reinvented "Rooks", and "You As You Were" from Animal Joy.
Purchases of the complete album also include a live cover of Bowie's "Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)"—which sounded like a new national anthem for the USA at the end of 2016.
In keeping with the themes of JPOB, 10% of the proceeds will be evenly split between the Equal Justice Initiative (eji.org) and Earthjustice (earthjustice.org).

absolutely love this record. shearwater having been a favorite of mine as I love stellar production and this seems like a natural extension of that sub-sub genre. Dr. J.M. McNulty
